Songs Madonna should sing at Super Bowl

Madonna’s song repertoire stretches a lot farther than last year’s Super Bowl group, The Black-Eyed Peas. So we shouldn’t have to worry about her singing a sample of the same song more than once during a lame medley (not that it’s any excuse for the Peas to play the dreadful “Tonight’s Gonna Be A Good  Night” TWICE during halftime!). I’m not a fan of the medley. Yuk. No. Here are some choices as to what Louise Ciccone should belt out come Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. And no, there is none of that “Into The Groove” shit. “The Power of Goodbye” My favorite song by her. It was used a few times during the amazing college-themed TV series “Felicity.” “Frozen” Hauntingly danceable in a slow-shush…

Tis’ the season of Christmas Music (pt. 1)

So Chicago’s WLIT 93.9 FM “The Lite” is now, and has been since Nov. 10, the “Holiday Lite.” Which means, for those of you who live in Chicagoland, they play about the same 15 Christmas songs over, and over, and over… I don’t really have a problem with Christmas music starting a little early (although that’s too early). My issue is doing it Lite right. Here’s pretty much a sample of what you’ll hear on the Lite now: “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” – Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band “All I Want For Christmas (Is You)” – Mariah Carey “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” – Jackson 5 and also by John Cougar Mellencamp “Santa Baby” – both the Madonna and…
