A Super Visit to Northwest Indiana

Posted on February 1, 2012

Have you arrived in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl yet?  Gotten drunk in Broad Ripple? Shaked your arse at the Wild Beaver? You ain’t going to St. Elmo…from what I hear the NFL has taken over reservations for that shit the next four days. Can’t get Jimmy Fallon tix? Too fat to try that zipline thingy? Drive your arse a few hours north and visit Northwest Indiana. Spend an hour, half a day, stay overnight. Here’s a few places worth checking out. Stop by in Merrillville and check out the coolest liquor store sign you’ll see this side of the Mississippi. Stop in and buy a six-pack for the road back to Indy. Glasses Up To Love and Havoc

Posted on January 29, 2012

A little “coming soon” update… The “Super Bowl visitors visit NWI” is almost ready (Christ…Wednesday later in the night). Also…a Q & A with Liffey. Something called “The Touch.” I got the idea from a recent viewing of “50/50.” It’s gonna be a little romanticky…so be prepared. A new theme design…something a little temporary until I move up a bit to something more originally dodgy. Until then…from the Tellamore Dew “Irish True” whiskey…glasses up to love and  havoc.

Snow Gus

Dog shoveling snow

Gus wants to shovel

Today in Chicago we had our first snow of the winter (finally). This pic was from a few years ago after a pretty good storm and I was reminded of it today. Gus is a Chicago dog, owned by my cop brother. I was watching Gus and when I went out to shovel, he grabbed it from me and ran off with it in his mouth. Maybe he wanted to shovel the snow himself, but I think he just didn’t want me to do it. He pretty much just ran around the yard with it. This is one of the pics I took. I never saw anything like this. Good dog, Gus.

Cheers.
