It’s known as C2E2 – the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. I’ve never been. Until now. It’s held at McCormick Place this Friday night, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Basically it’s Comic Con, Chicago style. This afternoon was the kick-off party at Three Floyds brew pub in Munster, Ind. The famous Three Floyds. Home of Dark Lord Day (April 28) and a shitload of popular beers drinkers love to drink. I attended and had the following pints: Zombie Dust and Brian Boru. From the menu/website: Ireland’s first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster, Ireland around 940. And it’s Irish, baby. I was just in New York and I missed this, my trip was so brief. But the cast from Once performed this great scene on Letterman recently. Beautiful I may be at something interesting tomorrow. It involves really good beer and possibly, like comic book/movie people. Hopefully will have pics and story. And tonight I met the sweetest Muslim gals and I talked to them about tipping in Dublin. Just another Wednesday in Liffey’s world.

Cleaning out the snaps from the mobile (Blackberry) in anticipation of the iPhone 4 with the loveable Siri. That and a few others on my computer I’ve recently collected. And here they are. This one I think I got from The Sartorialist. I call her the “Irish Princess.” What a beaut. That hair color. And the classic style. I’m in love. Another beautiful (and smart) gal: Lisa Ling signing for me a copy of her great book Somewhere Inside that she co-wrote with her equally becoming sister Laura. I probably could have snagged a pic with her. I flaked out. Dammit. The marquee from Chicago’s great Double Door. About 10 years or so ago that marquee read “The Rolling Stones” when those boys did…
