Women of the Year

The first annual Dodgy Awards honors three women of 2013 who made their mark with beauty, passion, talent, and in at least two cases, controversy. Other year-end awards in various areas are also featured. And so, here are the 2013 Dodgys.  The Women of the Year Nadia of “Pussy Riot” Nadezhda “Nadia” Tolokonnikova of the all-female Russian punk activist group Pussy Riot was recently released from prison after serving nearly two years for “hooliganism.” Fellow Riot member Maria “Masha” Aloykhina was released on the same day. The entire lineup of the Pussy girls could have all been Women of the Year. 12 Days of Christmas for the Guy

This is written several years ago (before The Dodgy) as a companion piece to a “12 Days of Christmas for the Girl.” Can’t locate  the gal version, but in comparison her final total in dollars for the 12 days of gifts was in the millions.   I’m easy, I don’t need much. Some of the stuff on the original list sounds kind of annoying. Twelve drummers drumming? Too noisy. Four calling birds? My friend has a bird, and it bit me. Our friend Rooney was participating in it and we decided to show our support by jogging to the post-race party. We didn’t stalk around viewing spots waiting for him to go by while holding up “Go friend!” signs or anything like that.
